1. Cookies and similar storage
Cookies are small values that a website can store through a browser and, depending on their configuration, send with later requests. LocalStorage is a different browser facility: it stores values for a website origin without automatically attaching them to every request. Privacy rules can apply to both technologies. This policy therefore covers cookies and similar device storage together.
The supplied MetricBoard application does not set HTTP cookies. It uses localStorage for a privacy preference and a dashboard workspace. It includes no analytics scripts, advertising pixels or remote embedded content. Hosting infrastructure added during deployment could introduce additional storage and must be assessed and disclosed by the actual operator.
2. Storage inventory
| Category | Name / technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | metricboard-consent-v1 / localStorage | Remembers your privacy choice and category preferences. | Until cleared; no automatic expiry. |
| Essential requested workspace | metricboard-workspace-v1 / localStorage | Saves your period rows, custom KPIs, widget order, selected chart and date filter when you use the builder. | Until cleared or replaced; no automatic expiry. |
| Analytics | None installed | No visitor measurement or cross-site tracking is performed by this build. | Not applicable. |
| Functional, optional | None installed | No optional integrations or additional preference services are installed. | Not applicable. |
| Advertising | None installed | No advertising delivery, profiling or remarketing. | Not applicable. |
3. What the banner controls
Accept All records permission for the optional categories presented in Preferences. Reject Non-Essential records those categories as off. Preferences lets you review and save the categories individually. Because this build contains no optional analytics or functional services, accepting them does not load new scripts, transmit dashboard records or change the calculation tool.
The workspace is treated as storage needed to provide the local, persistent builder you request. It is not an advertising preference. Rejecting non-essential categories does not erase your work. Use Clear workspace to remove saved business values, or delete this site's storage in your browser. Essential preference storage lets the banner remain dismissed when you navigate or reload.
4. Change your choice or opt out
Use the Cookie preferences button in any footer to reopen the settings. You can switch optional categories off and save again. If your browser blocks localStorage, the tool works in memory where possible, but cannot guarantee that your choice or workspace survives navigation. The banner will explain a preference-saving failure rather than claim that it remembered your decision.
In Chrome, open Settings, then Privacy and security, and review site data or third-party cookie controls. In Edge, use Settings and the cookies or site-data controls. In Firefox, open Settings, Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site Data. In Safari, open Settings, Privacy, then Manage Website Data. Labels can vary by browser version and device; search settings for “site data” if needed.
5. Consequences of clearing storage
Deleting this site's stored data removes the saved preference and dashboard workspace. The consent banner can appear again, and the builder starts with an empty workspace. No sample records are loaded. Deleting browser data does not delete CSV or HTML files already downloaded to your device. Export important records before clearing storage, and review your downloads folder separately when removing sensitive business information.
6. Changes and questions
If a live operator adds analytics, external services or advertising, this inventory and consent implementation must be updated before those technologies operate where consent is required. The fictional company details shown in this build are not a verified controller identity. See the privacy policy for that limitation and the designated privacy contact, or use Contact to prepare a question.
